Joseph John Vescovi, 75, of Henderson, passed away Sept. 14, 2012. He was born Sept. 29, 1936, in White Plains, N.Y., and was a resident of Sun City Anthem since 2000. He was preceded in death by parents, Leno and Catherine Vescovi; son, Steven; and daughter, Tonia. He is survived by his wife, Judy; brother, Al; sons, Joseph Jr., John Anthony, Jeffery, Michael and Dean; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Joseph proudly served a combined 34 years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from R.E. Finch High School in Groton, Conn., and was an outstanding athlete in football and baseball. He attended Chaffey College, Calif., and Cal Poly Pomona, Calif. Joseph's loves in life were his family, friends, pride in his military service, cooking Italian dishes and football. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral services will be at noon, Monday, Sept. 24, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
