Caroline Louisa Markham, the thirteenth child and last child born to Stephen Markham and Mary Curtis Markham, was born on October 3, 1878 at Spanish Fork. She had twelve older brothers and sisters namely: Orville Sanford, Mary Lucy, William Don Carolos, Sarah Elizabeth, Atta Ruth "Att", Hosmer Merry "Hos", Emily Aurelia, Margaret Eliza, Joseph Curtis "Joe", Charlotta Julina, Ira Mecham and Clarissa Maretta.
By the time Caroline was born her oldest brother had married Mary Ann Robertson and they had bore at least one child, a son. The second oldest sibling was Mary Lucy and she had married Andrew Dudley and had had at least four children by the time Carloine was born and the third sibling, William Don Carlos had just been married a few months when his little sister, Caroline was born. You can see what a hugh span in age between the older and younger children. Her older sibling Sarah Elizabeth was married to William Ashby later in the month after Caroline was born.
Unfortunately, on February 5, 1889, Caroline passed away leaving her parents and siblings to mourn her loss. She was buried in the family plot at Spanish Fork Cemetery.
