DuWayne attended Rockford High School and was a member of the 1933 Championship Football Team. He was a sheet metal worker most of life and was a member of the Sheet Metal Local Union 219 of Rockford, IL.
He moved to Crystal Lake, Il in 1963, Rochelle, IL in 1978, to Ft Worth TX in 2006, and Medina Ohio in 2009.
DuWayne married Doris Alberts Parker on September 9, 1933 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Rocford, Il. He was active in church most of his life and was a member of various churches including, Messiah Lutheran Church, Lovejoy Covenant Church, Berean Baptist Church and lastly Lindenwood Lutheran Church of Lindenwood, IL.
He was preceded in death by Parents Vilas and Huldah Parker, 3 wives: Doris M. Parker, Zola Parker, and Charlotte Parker, 1 brother Philo Parker , Rockford IL, 1 sister, Lueva Brauer, Winnebago, IL and 1 grandson after his name, DuWayne A. Peters.
He is survived by Son, Roger Parker, Loves Park, IL, daughter Bobi (Gary) Sanders, Galveston, TX, 4 Grandsons; David (Julie) Peters, Gallatin, TN, Dennis (Lynn) Peters, Highland Village, TX, Dan ( Leslie) Peters, Cheyenne WY, Gary Sanders Jr. Hope Mills, NC, and 1 Granddaughter Cindy Sanders-Guillion, Linden, NC. He is also survived by 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Granddaughter, 3 Nephews, 2 Nieces, grand nephews and nieces.
There will be a memorial service at 2pm, Friday September 28, 2012 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford IL. Family members will be officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Willwood Burial Park.
