Parker - Vilas L. Parker, 89, R. R. 1, Winnebago, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 1968 in the Americana Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born April 5, 1878 in Granby, Quebec, Canada, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parker. Lived 69 years in the Rockford area coming here from Canada. Married to the former Huldah Hanford in Rockford. She died in April, 1934. Employed as sheet metal worker by the Parker Bros. Sheet Metal Co. Member of Winnebago Presbyterian Church and of Masonic Lodge No. 166, AF & AM and Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include: two sons, Philo Parker, Rockford and DuWayne, McHenry; one daughter, Mrs. Harold Brauer, Winnebago; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, twin brothers, Vere, Rockford and Verne, Cannon City, CO.
Services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1968 at the Winnebago Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wm. E. Butler pastor of the church officiating. Burial in Durand cemetery. Arrangements by Julian Poorman Funeral Home.

Lulu Belle (as she was known by the Parker family) was Vilas' second wife. Vilas' daughter Lueva loved her as if she were her own mother.
