The children of Isaiah and Phereba were: Frances E. Beachum (1836-1909, m. James Thomas Shepard), Sarah Beachum (c. 1838-?, m. Jerome J. Foreman), James Martin Beachum (1845-1864, Co. K., 43rd NC Reg't., CSA, died in War), Sophronia Ellen Beachum (1848-1935, m. William Wilson Taylor), Margaret C. Beachum (c.1852-1924, m. Jacob Wesley Harrington), David Leonidas Beachum (1854-1919, m. Elizabeth Irene "Bettie" Austin).
There are two other possible children, Allen Beachum, age 9 (c.1840) and Mary A. Beachum, 7 (c.1842) died in June of 1849, as listed on the 1850 Anson Co. mortality schedule. They died of "sore throat" (diptheria?) I am uncertain if they beloned to Isaiah and Phereba, or to Hugh and Zillah.
