Daniel Shelton Beachum/Beacham was a son of Alexander Beachum and his wife Elizabeth Shelton of Anson County, North Carolina. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Beachum & Susannah Hill, and his maternal grandfather was Beverley Shelton.

Daniel went to Henderson County, Tennessee as a young man, then went to Sumter Co., Ala. in 1837, and to Clarke Co., Miss. in 1847. He was married three times, I think.

Per various accounts Daniel married lady named Martha Piles/Pyle, but I am afraid I do not know anything about her. He subsequenly married Levina Sheppard, a daughter of John Sheppard & his wife Nancy Jane Watts, originally from Anson County. His third wife was Charity Ann Plyes/Pyle (1816-1889), a daughter of Samuel Easton Pyle and his wife Sarah, whom he married in Sumter Co., Ala. in 1840.

Daniel appears to have had three children, George Washington Beacham (1836-1901), William I. or J. Beacham (c.1837/8) and Sarah Elizabeth Beacham (c.1842-1918, Mrs. Levi Snellgrove).

While a biography of his son, George W. Beacham, states that Daniel died in Clarke County, Mississippi, and he was living there in 1880, I suspect he may have come back to Henderson Co., Tenn. before his death. Charity Ann Pyle Beacham is buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, and a descendand of Daniel's tells me that there is the base of a broken tombstone next to hers, identical to hers. I suspect that is where Daniel is buried.
