Robert B. Hartman, 74, of 1019 Buchanan Ave., died at the General Hospital Wednesday afternoon after a year's illness. His wife, Julia Straub Hartman, survives at home. He was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Herbert W. and Della Breneman Hartman and lived most of his life in this city. He attended Lawrenceville School and Princeton University. A World War I veteran, he was the retired president of the former Hartman Pontiac Co., and prior to that time was vice president of Follmer-Clogg, Inc. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church; the Lancaster Country Club; the Hamilton Club; the Donegal Society; and the board of the Wheatland Foundation. His wife, Julia Straub Hartman, and two step-daughters, Julianne C., wife of John H. Swanger Jr., Lancaster; and Marjorie C., wife of Theodore S. Coxe, Gladwynne, survive. Seven grandchildren and a brother and a sister survive: John I., and Mrs. Wellington R. Burt, both of Lancaster. (Lancaster New Era - Feb 5, 1970)
