Shirley attened grade school and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, Cuyahoga FAlls, Ohio in Jan. 1945. She was a wiz at typing and taking shorthand and was a secretary. She moved to New York City after WWII and married John V. Borkowski in Aug. 1947. They made their home in the New Orleans area for most of the 56 years they were married. They had 2 daughters, Diane C. and Patricia A.
John and she owned several sailboats during their marriage and enjoyed the sport of sailing. She also did beautiful crewel embroidery pictures. These pictures are cherished by all she sewed them for.
Shirley liked to travel and was able to go on trips to Europe, Russia and Japan with her husband when he went on business trips. She was a grand mother of six and at the time of her death, a great grandmother of five.
She is dearly missed but lives on in the hearts of those who love her.
