Carl E. Price, 78, of Columbus, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at the Freeman West Hospital at Joplin, Mo., following an illness.
He was born Sept. 15, 1921, at Quaker Valley, to Arthur and Minnie Hinkle Price.
He was a graduate of Riverton High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Mona Clare Gibson on Dec. 21, 1941, at Columbus. She preceded him in death Nov. 15, 1978.
He married Ethel Dungan on Sept. 14, 1979. She survives of the home.
He owned and operated Price Appliance at Columbus. He also worked at Spencer Chemical Co.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Odd Fellows, Prudence Lodge No. 100 AF&AM Masonic Lodge, Purcell Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 110 and the Rebekah Lodge at Columbus.
Additional survivors include two sons, David C. Price of St. Joseph, Mo., and Eddie I. Price of Howard; a step-son, Charles Kienast of Fort St. Lucie, Fla.; a step-daughter, Colleen Dixon of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Manford Price of Wichita; three sisters, Stella Youngblood of Galena and Evelyn Logins and Roselyn Belcher, both of Tulsa; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Dale and Roy Price, and two sisters, Freda and Ina.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Murdock Fuenral Home, Columbus, with the Rev. Garland Bohn officiating.
Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Murdock Funeral Home, Columbus.
