ObituaryThe Herald DemocratPage 6, November 5, 1942 middle of pageThomas Mathis Thomas Mathis son of Henry and Sarah Mathis was born in Brown County, Nashville, Indiana February 2, 1866 and departed this life October 22, 1942 at his home in Beaver, Ok at the age of 76 years 10 months 5 days. He was married to Mary Tull 1887. To this union six children were born a son Walter and a daughter Rosie who passed away in their childhood. Claude Mathis and Charley Mathis of Holly Co. and Mrs. Wing of Beaver, OK, Mary Tull his wife preceded in January 10, 1925. (1928) He was married again on July 13, 1928 to Cora Gibson of Fayetteville Arkansas. Mr. Mathis was a well liked man among those who knew him. He was a kind husband and a loving father. He leaves to morn his loss his wife and three sons, one daughter and one brother, 7 half sisters, 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.
