McMurphy --- Marvin H. McMurphy, a lifetime resident of Sterling, died Friday, Jan 29,1982, at the Lyons Good Samaritan Center. He was born March 20, 1921, at Sterling and married Darlene Price June 1, 1948, at Lyons. He was a retired street foreman for the City of Sterling and was a member of the Maonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion, all of Sterling, and was a veteran of World War II. --- Survivors include the widow of the home; daughters, Karen Legleiter and Cynthia Samson, both of Sterling; Sondra Proffitt, Alden; Patricia Harmon, Gorham; brothers, Roy, Glenn, and Nevin, all of Sterling; a sister, Hazel Tyler, Oklahoma City; and eight grandchildren. --- Services were held Monday morning, Feb. 1, at the Porter and Sillin Funeral Home with the Rev.
