Thomas Damiano 89, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away September 8, 2012 after a brief stay at Arizona Premier Group Home in Mesa, AZ.

Tom Damiano will be remembered as being an integral part of the Apache Junction community. He was part of the Incorporation Committee of 1978 as well as the first City Council member (1978). He was the Mayor of Apache Junction, AZ from 1980-1985, the Vice Mayor (1989), voted in again as the Mayor (1991) and lost a historical re-election vote (by 2 votes) in 1993.

He loved the Apache Junction community and was a vital participant of several of the things we enjoy today such as: getting the library built, the senior center, our City Gazebo and getting Southern Avenue opened between Ironwood and Meridian.

He served the United States Air Force proudly serving in 3 wars and retiring in 1969 as a Flight Engineer.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Marjorie and son Bob. Tom and Marjorie were blessed with four children: Danny, Raymond, Barbara and Debbie.
