LOIS MAXINE SCOFIELD JACK-McCUEN
Lois Maxine Jack-McCuen was a native of Colorado, born November 8, 1927 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. She is one of 12 brothers and sisters who were raised on the farm in Rocky Ford. She loved life on the farm and always spoke of a wonderful childhood with all her brothers and sisters. She attended a 2 room house where she was the only girl and the teacher's pet. She finished the eighth grade.
She later moved into town and met Richard Judson Jack. They eloped to Raton, New Mexico in 1945 and made a life together raising five children, Joyce, Donna (who claimed to be her favorite), and Marlene (Who also claims to be her favorite), Dennis (who claims to be her favorite) and Marlene Lwho claims to be her favorite). They settled in Adams County, Colorado and bought a small, one bedroom home. Together they built additional rooms as the family grew and became a beautiful home for her family. They were married 49 years when Richard passed away.
Lois loved birds and collected many sea shells throughout her traveling years. She hand-crafted beautiful porcelain dolls that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will cherish forever. She was a member of Beth Eden Baptist Church for many years, but attended Calvary Community Baptist Church in Thornton, Colorado for the last 18 years.
Lois later met Dale McCuen and they married on December 4, 1993. They moved to Kersey, Colorado for 2 years and later moved to Thornton, Colorado. They had over 18 wonderful years of travel and companionship together.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; Oren and Leland Scofield, her sister's; Mavies Scofield, Mary Etta Swallow, Mabel Brandt, Pearl Carter, Marguerite Swallow, Opal (Thompson) McClaran, and Brother; Harrison Scofield, her late husband; Richard Judson Jack, and daughter; Donna Elaine Collins.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Dale, surviving siblings, Nina Wimber, Harold, Owen, and Everett Scofield, her surviving children, Joyce Morris andhusband Jack from Parker, Dennis Jack and wife, Beverly from Massechussetts, and Marlene New from Westminster, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a little dog "Frankie", and her cat "Molly".
A Celebration of Lois's life will be held this Thursday, September 13, 2012, 11:00am. at the calvery Community Baptist Church, 11980 Irma Dr., Northgleen, Colorado, 80233. She will be laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, Mortuary & Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
