John Hunter, aged 62 years, of Bradenville, a miner, was instantly killed by a fall of slate in the Peanut mine of the Saxman Coal & Coke Company at 10:30 o'clock this morning. The falling slate struck Mr. Hunter on the head. Fellow miners took the body from the mine and it was removed to the Nicholson Morgue at Derry. Mr. Hunter was born and raised in Derry township, and had been a resident of Bradenville practically all of his life. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Ethel Thomas, of Latrobe, and a son, Thomas, of Mechesneytown. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for Jackson B. Hunter, who was killed by a fall of slate in the Peanut mine of the Saxman Cole & Coke Company at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning, will be held at his late residence in Bradenville at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, in charge of Rev. W.A. Sites. Interment will be made in Unity cemetery. The body was removed from the Nicholson mortuary to the Gosnell Funeral Home, yesterday, and this morning was taken to his home in Bradenville. Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, one son, Clancy, of Mechesneytown; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Thomas of Latrobe, and five grandchildren. His mother, Mrs. Sarah B. Hunter, two brothers, Westley and Frank, and one sister, Mrs. William King, of Latrobe, also survive.

Mr. Hunter was born September the 4th 1873 the son of John Hunter & Sarah Bates both born in Pennsylvania. He leaves a wife Harriet Hunter. Funeral arrangements were in the care of undertaker L. S. Gosnell of 324 Weldon Street, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Interment was made on Monday September the 12th 1932 in the Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Information was provided by L. S. Gosnell of 324 Weldon Street, Latrobe.
