He was born May 8, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Alda Taylor Eveningred. He Married Dolores K. Sorensen on May 13, 1950 in Port Huron.
Mr Eveningred served in the Pacific Theatre with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. After attending school in Chicago, he returned to Port Huron and became an expert in sign-building, including glass-bending and neon installation, becoming a co-owner of Acme Sign Company in 1950. The company was sold in 1995 but Earl continued working until 1998, retiring at age 73. He was an elder of First Presbyterian Church. He was active for many years with Blue Water Habitat and went on two mission trips to Haiti. He loved wood-working.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores; a son, Paul (Sandra) Eveningred of Fort Gratiot; a daughter, Brenda (Donald) DuPree of Port Huron; four grandchildren, Dr. Steven (Jan) Eveningred of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew Eveningred of Fort Gratiot, Chelsea DuPree and Ashley DuPree, both of Port Huron; two brothers, Donald (Norma) Eveningred of Florida and Elton Eveningred of Hereford, Arizona, a sister-in-law Theresa Eveningred; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tracie Eveningred. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Gerald Eveningred.
Mr. Eveningred's body was donated to Wayne State University.
A memorial service was held at First Presbyterial Church of Port Huron on September 15, 2012. The Reverend Jason Pittman officiated.
