Nora Abshire, 93, of Feds Creek, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born August 13, 1919, in Pike County, the daughter of the late Benjamin "B.H." Thompson and Bertha Rowe Thompson.
She was a homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lauch Abshire, one son, Raymond Abshire, one daughter, Della Mae Abshire, two brothers, Ermel Thompson and Ertel Thompson,; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by one son, Herman Abshire of Feds Creek, four sisters, Euna Thompson, Eunice Miller, Evon Hamlin and Emoline Whitehead, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012, in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with Frank Crum officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va.
