OBITUARY

Funeral Services for Golda V. Adair, 81, of Stilwell, will be held Wednesday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Hall and Rev. Hubert Sponsler officiating. Burial will be in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Adair, Bryce Adair, Jess Adair, Bob Adair, and Gilbert Bigby. Honorary bearers will be Glen Robbins, Ed Caldwell, James Dailey, and Joe Adair.

Golda was born on February 14, 1909 in Adair County to Walter D. and Sabina E. Adair Bigby. She passed away on Sunday December 16 at St. Johns' Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a retired florist and a lifetime resident of Adair County. She was married to Virgil C. Adair on November 4, 1928 in Stilwell. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1968. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Rose Garden Club. She was preceded in death by four brothers: W.J. (Buster), W.D., Rufus, and Colbert Bigby; five sisters: Maude Barker, Mayme Martin, Gladys Adair, Mary Rhoads and Blanche Adair.

She is survived by two daughters: Jimmie Ruth Carson and husband, Jack, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Judy Gail Adair of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Dr. Chris A. Carson of Dallas, Texas and Brad R. Carson of Oxford, England.

Golda was the daughter of Walter Duncan Bigby (1871-1916) and Sabina Elizabeth Adair Bigby (1880-1961)

She married Virgil Collins Bigby on November 4, 1928 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

They had a daughter, Jimmie Ruth Adair Carson, who was born on December 12, 1932 in Piney, Adair County, Oklahoma. Another daughter, Judy Gail Adair, was born on June 20, 1946.
