He was born Nov. 25, 1909, in St. Claude, Canada, the son of the late Octave and Diana (Robichaud) Brochu.
He worked at Ashland Mill for 25 years and then retired from American Velvet Mill in Stonington after another 25 years.
He was married to Aldea (Fortin) Brochu Oct. 31, 1936, in Pascoag, R.I., She survives him.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Diana Johns of Stowe,Mass., Mrs. Catherine Utz of Canterbury, and Mrs. Theresa Allard of Griswold; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The Jewett City-Leffler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
