Robert Cary Bielaski, was born November 27, 1914 and passed away on Saturday (October 13, 2007). After the war, Bob and his wife Gentry lived in West Hartford for many years while Bob rose up the corporate ladder to become vice president of the Aetna Insurance Company. He then became a partner in the Brewer and Lord Insurance Brokerage in Boston and retired in 1979, then moving down to Tryon, NC. An avid tennis and squash player, he played golf up until just a year ago. In retirement, he served as a director of St. Lukes Hospital and was an early promoter for the Polk County Hospice program. A true gentleman, he always had a welcoming or encouraging word for all those around him. Bob will also be remembered for his unflagging good nature, integrity and kindness, and sometimes wry sense of humor.
