Rosalie's headstone has an incorrect birth date of 1903 and an incorrect middle initial of N.

Her true middle name and birth date is from her baptismal certificate, dated Sept. 9, 1902, Holy Rosary Church, Moxee City, Washington; copy in my possession.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She was born in Moxee City, Washington, September 8th, 1902, the fifth child of Hilaire Fortier (1866-1928) and Sarah Marie Regimbal (1875-1913). She was baptized Rosalie Marie Fortier on Sept. 9th, 1902, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee.
She married William H. Lizotte of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota on May 29, 1926 in Yakima. The couple had four children, Richard (1926), Dolores (1932), Janet (1935) and Thomas (1938).
The couple's six year old son, Richard, drowned in 1933 and was buried alongside his grandparents, Hilaire and Sarah Fortier in Yakima's Calvary Cemetery. My dad, Robert Fortier, Richard's first cousin, was 12 at the time and even now, at the age of 93, remembers how sad he and everyone was at his funeral.
The family later moved to Tillicum, a suburb of Tacoma, Washington.
Aunt Rosalie died May 5, 1950 and was buried on the 9th at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Tacoma, Washington. Her newspaper obit appeared in the Tacoma Daily Ledger on May 9, 1950.
The Department of Health, on-line Death Index was transcribed from her obituary, its publish date recorded as her death date. Other inaccuracies from the obit were her estimated age, the wrong middle initial, and the spelling of her mother's given name.
When her headstone was commissioned, it was mistakenly engraved using the erroneous data from her obituary. According to my dad, it was left as-is due to the expense of a remake and dispute over who was at fault. I, at the age of 3, my dad and mom, and my grandparents Avilla (her brother) and Muriel Fortier attended her funeral.
Note: Due to my stating the facts in her Name: and Date: fields on this memorial, created in 2010, another poster in 2012 may have thought this Rosalie Lizotte was a different person. A duplicate memorial was made based on the headstone's one year difference in birth date and the N. middle initial. A photo of it was uploaded to that new post, and a Copy/Paste of the flawed on-line death index was added in its bio section to support the purported 4 day difference in the date of death.
I followed Find-a-Grave's guidelines about adding full middle names when known, so here we are. Marie doesn't start with an N. does it. I just recently learned of the other memorial and of the headstone photo. My original bio was written without knowledge of its errors and based entirely on family records.
Thanks to Robert Fortier (1921-2017) for helping construct Rosalie's bio, and for recalling details of her life and funeral for me.
