Abe Akker, 90, passed away Aug. 7, 2012. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, he moved here in 1974. Locally he was a real estate broker and a member of St. Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Mr. Akker was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Jeannette (Jeanne). He is the loving father of Barbara J. Scott, William J. Akker and his wife, Arlene; James A. Akker and his wife, Lisa; grandfather of 7; great-grandfather of 3. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4-6:30 pm and again Saturday, Aug. 11 from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm at St. Petersburg Presbyterian Church, 600 83rd Ave. N.E. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Petersburg Presbyterian Church. R. Lee Williams and Son, 49th St. N./727-527-1177.
