Florence Conn, 76, Berlin RD 1, died May 31, 1978 in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. She was born Oct. 8, 1901 in Summit Township, a daughter of Urias and Annie (Shoemaker) Burkholder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachariah; one daughter, Jacquelin; one granddaughter; and three brothers. She is survived by these children: Dorothy, wife of Clinton Baker, Somerset RD 3; Bruce, Berlin RD 4; Nelda, wife of Raymond Magnetto, Carrollton, Ohio; Helen, wife of Joseph Hillegas, Somerset; Hazel, wife of Ernest Smith, Berlin RD 1; Paul, Somerset RD 5; Robert, Confluence; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and these sisters, Burnie Burnsworth, Mrs. Bess Seese, and Bertha Leipchack, all of Windber RD 2; Mrs. Leora Hostetler, Garrett and Mrs. Margaret Cerera, Windber. She was a member of the Somerset Alliance Church. Friends were received in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at the Somerset Alliance Church, with the Rev. James Vandervort and Dr. William Lawrence officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
