Marvin Booton
Marvin G. Booton, 83, Gulfport, Ill., died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at his home.
He was born June 29, 1903, at Dallas City, Ill., to Allen and Elizabeth Evans Booton. He married Flossie Mapes Oct. 2, 1920 at Oquawka, Ill.
He farmed near Olena, Ill., from 1938 to 1954. He also operates a service station in Gulfport for three years and assisted Jack Dixon and Jack Evans in their farming operations. Also, he operated the Riverview lounge in Gulfport for several years.
He was a member of the Burlington Moose Lodge and the Gulfport Village Board.
Booton is survived by his wife at the Applegate Inn Nursing Home in Monmouth, Ill.; three sons, Boyd, Stronghurst, Ill.; Glen, Dayton, Ohio; and Earl, Gladstone, Ill.; a daughter, Doris Sebastian, Gladstone; a brother, Dale, Burlington; a half-brother, Doren Reynolds, Burlington; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildrenn and a great-great grandson.
Friends may call after noon Monday at Banks and Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, Charles Coonce officiating. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Gulfport Volunteer Ambulance Service.
