John Henson Brown, an area resident for 60 years, died December 20, 1970 at his residence at the age of 93. He was born in Decatur County, Tennessee, November 5, 1877.

Services were conducted Tuesday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Steele with Mr. Judson Woodbridge officiating.

He is survived by two sons, Cecil Brown of Steele and Elbert Brown of Humboldt, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Goings of Vinita, Okla., Mrs. Lona Dobb of Bells, Tenn., and Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd of Parsons, Tenn.; three brothers, Ben F. Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, Alvin A. Brown of Strathmore, Calif., and Charles E. Brown of Wildersville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the Original German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.

Pall bearers were Wendell Brown, John Brown, Kenneth Brown, Russell Holder, Robert Brown, Gary Brown and Rick Holder.
