She was born June 11, 1934, in Concord, daughter of the late Brownie and Crawford Morton.
She retired from Pharr Yarns after a battle with cancer.
Deloris was a member of Sandy Ford Freewill Baptist Church in Mount Holly. She was the backbone of her family and was known by many for her loving and caring nature. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Deloris leaves behind her children: daughter, Eulene Spargo and husband Butch of Belmont; son, Jimmy Perkins and wife Kathy of Denver; son, Danny Ray Perkins of the home; daughter, Regina Baucom and husband Steve of Belmont and daughter, Tonya Cope and husband Randy of the home. She also had four stepchildren; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Deloris was preceded in death by two husbands, Lee A. Perkins "Bill" and Jerry L. Penley and two daughters, Sandy and Teresa Perkins.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Penley will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas, on the Dallas Cherryville High-way with grandsons Michael and Brian Spargo and the Rev. Ralph Carver officiating.
A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery officiated by the Rev. Vernon and Kenny Cope.
Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family.
