UNTIMELY DEATH OF OTTO HOLTORF
Otto Holtorf died last Saturday evening at five o'clock at his home in Hoaglin, Trinity county. He had been ill but a few days and his passing was wholly unexpected and came as a great shock to his relatives and many friends.
Decedent was born in Colusa county and was aged 37 years. He had lived in Hoaglin about twenty-five years.
To mourn his passing are left to his wife, formerly Miss Mary Gray of Fortuna and an infant daughter. Also his father, Henry Holtorf of Hoaglin, and the following brothers and sisters: Hans Holtorf of Grattan, Sonoma county, John Holtorf of Oakland, Mrs. C. Berry of Elmsburg, Oregon, Mrs. Lena Berry of Berkeley, Mrs. Matheson of Visalia, Mrs. Walter Stewart of Petrolia, and Mrs. Atkeson of Hoaglin.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the family home at Hoaglin and was largely attended.
Decedent was highly respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. Of a genial and likeable disposition, he was the life of any party in which he appeared, and will be greatly missed in his home community.
