Lucy Jane Hickey was born on May 7, 1897 in Custer County, near Canute, in Oklahoma Territory, the daughter of Lindsey P.C. and Susie Elizabeth Montgomery and passed away on Friday, April 16, 1982 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital after an extended illness at 84 years of age.
She moved as a young lady with her parents to Rankin, OK in 1914 and married James Parvon Hickey on December 21, 1915 in Dempsey, OK and they moved to Durham in 1928 before making their home in Reydon in 1932 where they lived until Mr. Hickey's death in 1969. Mrs. Hickey moved in December of 1969 to Cheyenne to make her home. She was a member of the Elk City Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 1 sister, 2 half-brothers and 2 half sisters.
Survivors include 1 daughter, June Kendall of Cheyenne, OK; 1 son, C.L. Hickey of Reydon; 1 brother, Joe Montgomery of Visalia, CA; Alice Marcum of Sayre, OK; 2 grandchildren, Charles Hickey and Michael Kendall; 5 great grandchildren, Michele and Joel Kendall, Brandon, Justin and Shona Hickey.
Services were conducted Monday, April 19, 1982 in the Reydon Community Building with Johnny Freeman and Aubrey Cowan officiating at the 2:00 p.m. services. Burial followed in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Charles H. Fry, Troy Garver, John Laine, Virgil Medley, Glen Estes, and John R. Peterson.
