Charles C. Eppley, of 213 South Hanover Street, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the Carlisle Hospital where he was admitted yesterday afternoon following a stroke.

Mr. Eppley, a well-known grocer, had been in ill health for a number of years, suffering from a heart ailment. For many years he conducted a grocery at South and Hanover Streets and retired about seven years ago because of his health. He was aged 73 years.

He is survived by two sons, Mervin, of New Jersey, and Clair of New York City; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Bagenstose, Pittsburgh; two brothers, Alfred and Grant of Carlisle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

EPPLEY FUNERAL

Funeral services for Charles C. Eppley will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from the home, 213 South Hanover Street. Rev. Dr. A.R. Steck, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, of which Mr. Eppley was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call at the house from 7 to 9 o'clock Sunday evening.

Mr. Eppley, aged 72, died Friday in Carlisle Hospital. He conducted a grocery store at South and Hanover Streets for twenty years until his retirement, due to illness nine years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge.

He was the son of the late Samuel and Amanda Hoon Eppley and is survived by two sons, Mervin G. and Clair M. Eppley, of New York; a daughter, Mrs. Abner H. Bagenstose, Pittsburgh, and two brothers, U. Grant and Alfred Eppley of Carlisle.

Funeral services for Charles C. Eppley were held this afternoon from the residence, 213 South Hanover Street. Rev. Dr. A.R. Steck, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Dr. G.M. Diffenderfer. Burial was in Westminster Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank T. Adams, J.U. Smith, Merrill F. Hummel, H. Elmer Sheaffer, Charles C. Hoffer and Dr. E.C. Morrette.
