Diane King Stampfel, 66, of Kansas City North, passed with grace on Sept. 4, 2012 at her home. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., followed by a service celebrating Diane's life at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial in a private ceremony will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the MS Society or to the American Lung Association. Diane was born Oct. 6, 1945 in Independence, MO, the eldest of two children of Grover and Margaret King. Her parents preceded her in death. She leaves her husband, Leonard Stampfel; daughters, Michelle Maksimik (husband Craig), Jennifer King (husband Keith Grimes) and Jeanette Ward; grandchildren, Harrison Davis Maksimik, Halle Margaret Maksimik, Garnet Lindsey Lacy-King, Carrie Grimes, Courtney Grimes, Colin Davis King, Sydney Rachel Ward and Jordan Alexandra Ward; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Kalua King; two nephews and one niece, all whom Diane loved dearly and who will greatly miss her.
