Alfred Blehm of Paradise, Calif., died Aug. 19, 2012 at home with his family by his side. Alfred was born in Long Beach, Calif., an only child to Albert and Icle on Sept. 2, 1932. He attended Columbia Adventist Academy in Battle Ground, Wash., for four years where he met and fell in love with his ever-faithful wife of 59 years, Darlene Faye (Matt- hews). After graduating high school on the morning of May 24, 1953, Alfred and Darlene were married that afternoon in the Meadow Glade Seventh-Day-Adventist Church. Alfred left the next day to serve in the Army for two years during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge. Alfred had four children. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Robin and Dale Ainsworth and Rochelle and Jim Harding; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay; and a son, Ricky Ray. Alfred was a faithful husband, a good father and a dedicated Christian.
