Schuyler C, Barrett was born in
Salem, Ind., Jan. 27, 1869. - He moved
when a small child to Illinois,
with his parents where 'his father
died in the summer of 1877. In the
same fall he moved with his widowed
mother and family to Kansas, living
with her on the homestead four
miles north of Scandia, until her
death in the spring of 1892. He with
his brother, Joe, remained on the
same farm until 1900 when they
moved to White Rock, Kan,, where he
united with the United Brethren
church.
In 1909 he was married to Carrie
Tarbox of Scandia, Kans. He with
his wife moved the same spring to
New Mexico where his wife preceeded
him in death in 1927. He remained
at Springer, New Mexico until
his fatal illness and passed away
at his sister's home at Salina, Kans.
He was the youngest of eleven
children. He leaves to mourn him
one brother and three sisters. Joseph
Barrett, and Mrs. James Cardwell
of Belleville, Mrs.Martha Stinson
of Seattle Wash., and Mrs. Mary
Morris of Salina.
Schuyler was of a sunny disposition
and made many friends where
ever he went.
