Nigle was the son of Charles Berton and Rebecca Elvira Centers Anderson. He attended school in Livonia, MO. He moved to Iowa in 1922. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed at Ft. Bowie, TX. He married Margaret Elizaberh Poots Bennington on Nov. 30, 1945. He married Velva Kline on August 7, 1965. They made their home in Grinnell. He enjoyed coonhunting and playing horseshoes.
