Master Sergeant Jackson perished aboard U.S. Army Air Corps B-29-1-MO Superfortress #42-65204 when, after being badly battle damaged on mission over Omura, Japan, made an emergency landing at Ankana, China but collided with another B-29 on the runway.
Four crew members were killed, but seven survived.

Paducah Sun-Democrat, Tues., Dec. 5, 1944 - Bardwell Soldier Is Killed In Action -BARDWELL, Ky., Dec. 5 (Special) MSGT George Jackson, 27, has been reported killed in action in China, Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The message was received from the War Department by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Jackson, of Bardwell.
MSGT Jackson had been in the service for several years and at the time he was killed was serving his second overseas assignment. The first time he was wounded and was returned to the United States to recuperate.
Besides his parents MSGT Jackson is survived by three brothers, William Jackson, with the armed forces in Germany, Brode and Bethel Jackson, both of Detroit; six sisters, Mrs. Ezra Mae Terry, Galveston, Tex., Mrs. Sallie Adams, Paducah, Mrs. Pauline Sanders, Detroit, Mrs. Mary Crooks, Milburn, Mrs. Katherine Whiteacre, New York, and Mrs. Mallie Fleming, Washington, D. C.
