Mrs. Ann Soper, who had been ill for many months at her home, died at 3:00 A.M. Friday morning, January 6, 1928. She had been an invalid for 8 years but was taken much worse about two months ago. She was in her eighty-third year. Before her marriage to Robert P. Soper in 1891 she was Miss Ann E. Dickerson, was born and reared in Jessamine County, Kentucky, and at the age of fifteen years became a Christian and united with the Christian church and ever lived in accord with her faith until her death.

Her husband preceded her to the grave six years. To their union was born only one child, Miss Sallie Soper, the well known and much admired day operator in Burgin. The funeral services were held at the Burgin Christian Church where she had been a constant member, on Saturday morning, January 7th, at 11 o'clock, conducted by Reverend H.T. Bonny, pastor of the Burgin M.E. Church who took for his text: "A Good Name is Better than Precious Ointment and Day of Death than the Day of Birth." Interment in the Burgin Cemetery.
