Andrew was the son of John Dickerson IV and Paulinia Cravens Dickerson.

Andrew married Lucy Mildred Young in Jessamine County, Kentucky but moved to Pettis County Missouri after the death of his wife on Apr 3, 1873. Andrew had two known sons from that marriage who died at an early age who were Willie and Merril.

Andrew became a farmer in Missouri where he married Nancy "Nannie" C Smiley on Apr 21, 1884 in Brownsville of Saline County, MO and remained married until his death at age 85 in Clay of Saline County however no settlement of that name exists today. Nancy (Aug 25, 1864 - Jan 23, 1939) is buried in the same cemetery as her husband.

DICKERSON
Mrs. Ann Soper of Burgin, received a telegram that her brother Mr. Andrew M. Dickerson, of Slater, Mo., died Jan. 2, 1927. He was an aged and splendid gentleman and leaves many relatives and friends in Kentucky, who are saddened by his passing away. Mr. Dickerson has made his home in Missouri many years.
