On March 8, 1925, he was united in marriage to Beulah Eaves, who survives. He also leaves a daughter, Beulah Marie (Mrs. L. H.) Archibee, of St. Louis; two sons, Vernon Dean and Donald Gene, at home; his mother, Mrs. W. C. Huff of Flat River; three brothers, Noah Counts of Ellington, Mo.; Floyd and Fred Counts of Flat River; two half-sisters, Ora (Mrs. Carl) Laird and Inez Huff of Flat River and a half-brother, Carlie Huff of Detroit, Mich. His father, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. James F. Miller. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery. Alvin Hood Service.
