MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA - Duvall C. Balochie, Sr., age 79, died Friday in Mountain View, California following a short illness. He was a merchant on the Roanoke City Market and Franklin Road, SW, for many years, and a resident of Roanoke for fifty-nine years before retiring to California. He was the son of the late Clara Cochran and Charles Tito Balochi and a member of the Belmont Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Grant Balochie, Mountain View, California; a son Duvall C. Balochie, Jr., Summersville, California; a daughter, Norma B. Hawkins, Huntington Beach, California; five grandsons, two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fair View Cemetery by the Rev. James W. Rush. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
