Gurden S. Baker,79, 2225 Dacotah St., died Sat. morning in a hospital here after a 1-day illness.
He was born 31 Jan. 1887, at Nevada, OH. & moved with his parents to Hicksville, OH., at the age of 1 yr.
He moved to Wall, SD. in 1906, & married Lillian Gumm n 31 Dec. 1907. They farmed near Wall until 1909, when they moved to the Wagner, SD. area. They moved to Sioux City in 1929.
He is survived by the widow; 5 sons, Harold, Jack & Clarence, all of Sioux City, Richard of Iowa Falls, IA & Raymond of Redding, CA.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Lucille (Elmer) Loker, Mrs. Marie (Donald) Loker & Mrs. Mabel (Charles) Solomon, all of Sioux City; 2 brothers, Cleve of Sioux City & Virgil of Sioux Falls, SD.; 1 sister, Mrs. Letha Meyer of Selano, MN.; 21 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Berkemier Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Gurden S. Baker, 79, 2225 Dacotah St, will be 10:30 a.m. Tues. at the Berkemier Funeral Home, the Rev. Orion Anderson of Riverside Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth & Jack Baker, Elwin & Norman Loker, Robert Solomon & Marvin Juzek.
