"Rest In Peace"

Vernon Eugene Bulger, 89, passed away in a local hospital on, Monday, August 27, 2012.

Mr. Bulger was born October 01, 1922 in Atlanta, GA, living most of his younger life near or in Sylacauga, AL, but residing the last 60 years in Pensacola, FL.

Mr. Bulger was a Master Plumber by trade, working as a Plumbing and Gas inspector for Escambia County Health Department for many years. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his immediate family and his brothers and sisters, including a twin brother, Virlyn Bulger.

Mr. Bulger loved music and was a self-taught musician playing the piano, organ, and guitar. He wrote several songs which expressed his love for God and in 2005 fully surrendered his life to Christ. He is now at peace in his Heavenly home with his Savior as well as family who have gone before him.

Mr. Bulger was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy on LST No. 985. His ship was involved in several Pacific campaigns and in the occupation forces in Japan. He served proudly and with honor and enjoyed sharing his experiences with his family.

Mr. Bulger was preceded in death by his two wives, Ruth Bulger of 47 years and Faye Bulger, 24 years; two sons, Larry Bulger and Dan Bulger; parents, William and Lillie Bulger; brothers, Virlyn Bulger and Don Bulger; and sisters, Florence Coleman and Ruby Jesswein.

Mr. Bulger is survived by one daughter, Eleanor Williams (Sherman) , Mobile, AL; two sisters, Mildred Coyle , Casselberry, FL and Jeanette McCain (Melvin), Langston, AL; He was "Paw Paw" to six grandchildren, Valarie Intille (Bill), Lithia, FL and Becky Ettlinger (Bill) Alpharetta, GA; Katie Catalani (Sam), Pensacola, FL and Jennifer Kelley (Travis), Ramona, CA; Dee Dee Graham (Keith) and Doug Williams (Lori), Mobile, AL. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, Zachary and Mitch Intille, Eva Ettlinger, Connor Cooper and Olivia Catalani, Ryan and Claire Kelley, Emily Graham and John Marshall and Jackson Williams.

Special recognition is given to family friends, Annette Bulger Fortney (daughter-in-law) and husband, Rev. Russell Fortney; caregivers and friends at Sable House, University Hills Rehab and Nursing Facility and to his friend and barber, Robert Ritchie. Thank you and may God bless you all.

Mr. Bulger's interment will be Monday, September 03, 2012 at Bayview Memorial Park with a short visitation at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow. Rev. Russell Fortney will conduct services with the eulogy by Sherman Williams. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials to churches of your choice or your favorite charity.

BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is entrusted with arrangements.
