Immigrated 3 July 1906, Ellis Island. Married Maria Janczycki on 17 November 1907, in Scarbro, West Virginia.
The growing family moved to Pana, Illinois; Clinton, Indiana; Terra Haute, Indiana, and finally Mishawaka, Indiana. John worked as a coal miner, ran a family grocery store, worked as a baker for the University of Notre Dame, and in rubber work for the Ball Band plant.

He spoke Polish, German, Russian, some French & English, and was said to have been in the Austrian Army. John had blue eyes, and brown hair.
