WASHBURN — Margaret Council, 71, of Washburn, formerly of Streator, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.

Margaret was born Feb. 25, 1941, in Vienna Township, Grundy County, to Ralph and Geneva (Burris) Lawrence. She married Robert Council on June 1, 1988, in Kentland, Ind. He preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1990.

Surviving are her children, Robert and James (Sue) Nodine, both of Streator, Steve (Trisha) Nodine, of Washburn, and Thomas Nodine, of Minonk; seven grandchildren, Renee, Eric, Nathan, Jacob, Kayla, Gina, Chelsea, Mayce, Elizabeth and Amber; one great-grandson, Hayden Robert; two sisters, Ann Marie (Jeff) Arndt, of Minonk, and Mary (Leo) Hurt, of Streator; and and two brothers, Dean "William" Lawrence, of Newark, and Ralph Lawrence, of Marseilles.

Her parents and one brother, Richard Lawrence, preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of Washburn United Methodist Church and the Washburn American Legion Auxiliary.

Burial in Phillips Cemetery, Streator.
