SHERMAN - Funeral services for Pauline Belcher will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at the Faith Church. Rev. Charles Glass of the church will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Bert Bond, Robert Bond, Mark Brown, Anthony Powell, Danny Reynolds, and Bob Loftin serving as pallbearers and Joe Oswalt as an honorary pallbearer. Mrs. Belcher passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Hilltop Haven at the age of 86.
Pauline was born on May 16, 1923 in Annona to the late Herbert and Ida (Tutt) Dismuke. She was a graduate of Avery Schools and the Wilson N. Jones School of Nursing. On January 20, 1942, Pauline married Frebert Belcher in Valliant, Okla. They were married for more than 67 years when Mr. Belcher passed away in September 1999. Pauline worked as a seamstress at Pool Manufacturing and then as an LVN at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center for more than 30 years. Pauline was a talented seamstress and enjoyed many arts and crafts projects. Sewing, crocheting, painting, woodworking, and especially ceramics were all hobbies she pursued in retirement. She was a longtime member of the Faith Church and a former member of the Rainbow Iris Society.
Mrs. Belcher is survived by daughters, Lois Stapp, Barbara Ray, and Linda Hughes and her husband Bobby, all of Sherman; grandchildren, Curt Hughes and wife Michelle, Eric Hughes and wife Stephanie, Kendra Sikes and husband Blake, Zach Ray, and Cody Stapp, all of Sherman; great grandchildren, Connor Hughes, Ashton Hughes, Olson Hughes, Emerie Hughes, and Eva Sikes; and brothers, Bill Dismuke of Houston and Kenneth Dismuke and his wife Sharon of Denison. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dixie Belcher; a son-in-law, Les Stapp; and an infant son.
