Fannie B. Borders

Fannie Brewer Borders, 92, Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Borders was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Joseph Hampton Brewer and Ardie Heaton Brewer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Borders, two sons, Luther Borders and Conrad Borders, and by four brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Borders was a member of the Church of Christ of Roan Mountain and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessie Faye Harmon, Flat Springs, N.C.; a son, J.L. Borders, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, A.J. Borders, Norma Campbell and Carl Elliott, all of Roan Mountain; two great-grandchildren, Misty Campbell and Melissa Campbell, both of Roan Mountain; two great-great-grandchildren, DeRon Wells and John Clifford Hicks, both of Roan Mountain; two brothers, Lester Brewer and William Brewer, both of Elizabethton; four sisters, Delia Potter, Roan Mountain, Carolyn Blackburn and Edith Bowling, both of Elizabethton, and Aline Weber, Johnson City; and two special friends, Karen Jones and George Shoemaker, both of Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


BORDERS -- Funeral services for Fannie Brewer Borders, 92, Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, who died Saturday, July 7, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Storie officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Markland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rhododendron Chapel.
