Mrs. Carolyne Brewer Blackburn, 85, 424 Field Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mrs. Blackburn was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Joseph Hampton and Ardie Heaton Brewer. She was also preceded in death by a son, Brownlow Brewer, and by five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Blackburn formerly had been employed at the Bemberg Corporation for 20 years and was a homemaker. She attended Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Blackburn; three daughters, Linda Rasnick, Elizabethton, Shirley Ann and Dolly Mae Blackburn, both of the home; one son, John Blackburn, Elizabethton; three sisters, Delia Potter, Roan Mountain, Edith Bowling, Elizabethton, and Aline Weber, Johnson City; and one brother, Lester Brewer, Elizabethton. Four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Storie officiating. The graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, in the Markland Hill Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, will be Brian Potter, Eric Potter, Glen Bowling Jr., Max Weber, Scott Hayes and Mike Griffin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence
