Miss Vera Gullberg, 70, Strawn, who had taught in the Germanville, Forrest and Strawn grade schools, died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 1973 at Gibson Community hospital, Gibson City. she had been ill nine days. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 1973 at the Culkin funeral Home, forrest. Rev. Raymond Lukoskie officiated. Interment was in St. Rose Cemetey at Strawn. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday, Mass of tahe Resurrection was held at 9 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in Strawn.
She was born November 21, 1902 at Strawn, a dughter of Eric and Mary Kunts Gullberg. She never married. She was graduated from Illinois State Normal University.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Edna Reed, Strawn. Three brothers proceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Dhurch, the Altar and Rosary Society, The Forrest Woman's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, National Education Associaton and the National Retired Teachers Association.
Pall bearers were her nephews, Weldon Benway, Jerome Benway, James Benway, Robert Benway, Glen Benway and Roger Benway.
