Emmie Louise Archer, 94, of Cameron, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, in a Cameron nursing center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Emmie Louise was born in Tanglewood, Texas, to the late Judge Emmit and Clarence Eola (Gay) Curlee. She was a graduate of Rockdale High School. Emmie married Bennie L. Archer on Sept. 10, 1936. Emmie worked with her husband in their electrical contractor business before his death and had also worked in the home health care field. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974; and seven siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Wallace, of Cameron; and sister, Jean Hart, of Lexington.
