Hazel was born in Tanglewood, Texas, to the late Judge Emmitt and Clarence Eola (Gay) Curlee. She married Jesse L. Hart in May of 1952, in Burnet. She was a long time member of First Christian Church and served as music director.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Thomas A. Hart and wife, Cindy, of Lexington; daughters, Claire L. Hart-Palumbo, of Houston, and Debi C. Smith and husband, Cody, of Lexington; grandchildren, Kaden Jeter, Peyton Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson, and Coleman Hart; and many other relatives and friends.
