She was a graduate of Union High School, Class of 1949, and a graduate of the Spartanburg Hospital School of Nursing.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by a daughter: Melody Bell of Greenville, SC; two sons: Ralph Samuel Bell Jr. of Radford, VA, and Michael W. Bell of Draper, VA; a sister: Hilda (Ward) Bailey of Union, SC; a brother, Ben Ward Jr of Union, SC; and seven grandchildren: Betty Jean Bell, Samuel Adam Bell, Ava Carol Bell, Fesser Ward Bell, Stewart Macleay Bell, Vivian Edith Bell, and Lauren Jessica Bell.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 1931, at The First Baptist Church in Radford, VA with Dr. Paul Lane and Rev. Kent Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Westview Cemetery of Radford, VA.
