Edward David "Buster" Light died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1999 at his residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Don Smith officiating.
Edward was born Oct. 24, 1925 to Edward Fred and Allie Smith Light in the community of Ocee. He attended Central Texas Schools and graduated from Waco High School in 1943. He was a WW II veteran. He married Mattie Lee Johnson in January of 1947.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie of Hewitt; two sons, David and wife Diane of Lorena and Larry and wife Sandra of Lorena; two granddaughters Belinda and Stacy both of Lorena; sister, Martha Bird of China Spring; sister-in-law, Helen Light Grathwahl of Chesapeake, VA; an uncle, an aunt, two nieces, several nephews and several cousins.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Quinton Bird, Arthur Bird, Troy Bird, Dwight Bird, J. C. Johnson and Kenny Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be all Square Dancers.
