Martha Lee Light Bird, 76, of China Spring passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at her daughter's residence. The family will receive visitors 2 to 4 pm Sunday, Aug. 26, at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Martha was born Dec. 12, 1935, to Fred and Allie Light Smith in Bosque County, Texas. A 1954 granduate of Valley Mills High School, she lived in China Spring and raised her children there. Martha retired after many years of employment by the China Spring ISD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Allie, brothers, Ben and Buster; one grandson; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include sons, Quinton Bird and wife, Bobbie of Lewisville, Arthur Bird and wife Mary, of China Spring, Troy of China Spring, and Dwight of Waco; daughter, Dorothy "Dot" Graham and husband, John, of Chalk Bluff; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
